Basketball Rules

  • Teams must consist of minimum 3 players and maximum 8 players.
  • Must have 3 players on the court to start play.
  • Opening possession will start with a do or die shot by a hand pick player from the home team.
  • Points inside the arch will count as 2 points.
  • Points outside the arch will count as 3 points.
  • On co-ed teams women’s points will count as 1 more point then for the men.
  • Men can block women.
  • Each game will consist of 2 running 20-minute halves.
  • Half time will be 5 minutes running clock.
  • Clock will no longer be running clock under 2 minutes if the game is within 20 points difference.
  • Under 2 minutes a shot clock of .24 seconds will be added to each possession.
  • Mercy rule will be 30 points difference under 5 minutes.
  • For men 2 free throws for any foul in the arch.
  • For men 3 free throws for any foul outside the arch.
  • For women on co-ed teams they will receive 3 free throws inside the arch.
  • For women on co-ed teams they will receive 4 free throws outside the arch.
  • Opposing team must bring ball outside arch if team shoots and misses shot, and contact is made with the rim. If ball does not contact the rim the opposing team can freely take possession and shoot the ball at their own will without having to go outside the arch.
  • Substitutes can go in at any time the ball Is out of play or a timeout is called.  
  • Must check the ball to restart play.
  • Anytime a shot is made the opposing team will receive the next possession. 
  • 1st Jump ball with be rewarded to the opposing team from 1st possession and go back and forth between the home and away team.
  • Any player who receives 5 fouls will be considered fouled out and will no longer be able to play for the remaining of the game. In the event the team has only 3 players and 1 of their players fouls out the team must forfeit the game.
  • In the event of a tie teams will be awarded a 5-minute overtime clock and whoever receives more points will win the game. In the event of a double OT and so forth 5-minute clocks will be awarded until a team scores more points.
